International Yoga Day 2025-26

On June 21, 2025, Vande Mataram College proudly celebrated International Yoga Day and World Music Day with great enthusiasm and participation. The twin celebration aimed at promoting physical well-being and cultural harmony among students and staff.

The program commenced at 9:30 a.m. with a peaceful and energizing yoga session, led by BrahmaKumari’s instructor. The session began with a brief introduction on the importance of yoga in maintaining physical health and mental balance. Warm-up exercises were taken and all the students and staff practiced and performed sitting asanas, standing asanas, importance of these were explained simultaneously.

Dr. Nihil Sashane (Yoga Dance Therapist) conducted “Yoga with Dance Therapy” session. It aimed to fight stress and depression in day today life. Dance session on songs, “Mera jootha hai Japani”, “Meri Mushkile” added a sense of celebration and joy to the disciplined yoga session.

President Sir, Rajkumar Kolhe took meditation session and also explained the importance and meaning of five fingers. The five fingers represent five elements of nature - Akash, Prithvi, Agni, Vayu, Jal.

The celebration of International Yoga Day, World Music Day, and the added Dance Session created a truly dynamic and holistic experience for the entire college community. The integration of movement, music, and mindfulness offered participants a rare chance to explore wellness from multiple angles – physical, mental, and emotional.
