In alignment with the academic reforms introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Department of Humanities organized a Guidance Session on the confirmation of Major and Compulsory Subjects for Second Year B.A. (SYBA) students. The session was held on 4th July 2025 at 10:00 AM in the SYBA classroom, with the objective of providing clarity to students regarding subject selection and academic progression.

The session was conducted by Mr. Padmakar Gadage, Chief Librarian of Vande Mataram College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Dombivli, who offered valuable guidance and insight into the academic structure under NEP 2020. Mr. Gadage began the session by introducing the key changes in the undergraduate curriculum as per NEP 2020. He explained the significance of choosing a major subject, the credit-based evaluation system, and how interdisciplinary and skill-based components enhance student learning. He also guided the students through the administrative procedure of subject confirmation, emphasizing the long-term impact of subject choices on academic and career development.

The session was interactive, with students asking questions about subject combinations, future prospects, and academic pathways. The guidance session was a successful and informative academic event that supported the smooth implementation of NEP 2020 at the undergraduate level. The Department of Humanities expresses its sincere appreciation to Mr. Padmakar Gadage for his informative and student-centric presentation.
