Guest lecture on "Environmental Awareness: A Pathway to Sustainable Living" AY 2025-26
As part of its commitment to holistic and value-based education, the Department of Humanities organized a guest lecture titled "Environmental Awareness: “A Pathway to Sustainable Living" on 1st August 2025. The event was planned to educate students about the urgent need for environmental sustainability and to promote responsible citizenship in the face of global ecological challenges. The Resource Person for this event was Mr. Prashant Shiral (Founder of NGO Arya Trust; Co-founder of Creating Hope; & Partner of Owl Conservation Foundation). Mr. Shiral is a well-known environmental activist and educator, deeply involved in conservation, community outreach, and ecological awareness campaigns.
The lecture covered a wide spectrum of environmental concerns including climate change, deforestation, pollution, wildlife conservation, and the depletion of natural resources. Mr. Shiral shared real-life examples from his work with NGOs and conservation foundations, emphasizing the importance of individual and collective responsibility in environmental preservation.
The guest lecture was a highly impactful academic engagement that aligned with the institution’s goals under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, promoting experiential and socially responsible learning.
