NSS - BHAJAN SANDHYA 2024-25

To commemorate the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Government of Maharashtra organized a grand Bhajan Sandhya at the iconic Gateway of India, Mumbai, on 2nd October 2024. The NSS Unit of Vande Mataram Degree College, Dombivli, enthusiastically participated in this event to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation and to promote Gandhiji’s values of truth, non-violence, and harmony.

 The main objectives of participating in the event were to inculcate values of peace, patriotism, and unity among the students. To encourage NSS volunteers to engage in activities that promote Gandhian philosophy. A group of 18 NSS volunteers along with the NSS Program Officer, Prof. Yogesh T. Kamble departed from Vande Mataram Degree College at 2:00 PM and reached Gateway of India by 4:00 PM. The event commenced at 5:00 PM with the lighting of the lamp by esteemed dignitaries from the Government of Maharashtra and NSS officials. A brief speech was delivered by Government and NSS officials emphasizing Gandhiji’s principles and their relevance in modern times.

 The Bhajan Sandhya began with the soulful rendition of Gandhiji’s favorite bhajans, including:

The NSS volunteers from Vande Mataram Degree College actively participated by joining the bhajan sessions and maintaining discipline throughout the event. The event concluded with a pledge ceremony, where all participants vowed to follow the path of truth, non-violence, and service to society. The NSS Unit of Vande Mataram Degree College, Dombivli, successfully participated in the Bhajan Sandhya event at Gateway of India, Mumbai, and paid a heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. The NSS Unit remains committed to engaging in activities that promote social values and community service.
