Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign Organized by NSS Unit of Vande Mataram Degree College, Dombivli (W)
The NSS Unit of Vande Mataram Degree College, Dombivli (W) successfully organized a special awareness program on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) on 24th January 2025, commemorating National Girl Child Day. The event aimed to promote awareness about the importance of educating and empowering girls, along with addressing the pressing issue of gender inequality in society. The program commenced with a formal inauguration by the Principal, Dr. R.N. Nadar along with the chief guest jmf’s sectetary, Mrs. Dr. Prerana Kolhe, advocating for women’s rights. The inaugural session highlighted the significance of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign and the role of education in transforming society.
The NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated in an awareness rally around the vicinity of the college, holding placards and banners with powerful slogans such as:
"Educate a Girl, Empower a Nation"
"Give Girls the Wings to Fly"
A thought-provoking street play was performed by the NSS volunteers, depicting real-life scenarios of gender discrimination, The play effectively conveyed the message to the audience, drawing applause and positive responses from the onlookers.
The event concluded with a pledge ceremony, where all participants vowed to promote gender equality and support the education and empowerment of girls.
The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign witnessed the participation of over 66 students, faculty members, and local residents. The event successfully instilled a sense of responsibility among the youth to contribute towards building an inclusive and equitable society.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the NSS Program Officer Prof. Yogesh Kamble, expressing gratitude to the management, faculty, volunteers, and participants for their unwavering support in making the event a grand success.
